Sew a wash bag from scratch

An afternoon among fabrics to discover how a few pieces end up as a wash bag made by you. No previous experience needed: we start together and guide you through the whole process, calmly and answering every question.

What you will learn

The wash bag is one of those small projects that hide a lot of technique and are perfect for getting fluent with the machine, which you will learn to handle as we build it.

You will see how to join the pieces, how to get a nice shape with structure and, most interesting of all, how to insert a zip so that it sits neatly. And we will take care of the finishes, which are what make the result look properly made.

What you will sew

A square wash bag, completely finished, learning how it is built and assembled as we go. Simple enough for one afternoon, but with plenty to learn along the way.

And once you understand how it goes together, it is a project you can repeat in countless versions: other fabrics, sizes, colours… The first one goes home made by you.

What the session is like

We will sew, try things out and learn in a group of no more than five people, adapting to each person’s pace. It is not about following instructions quickly: we want you to understand what you are doing and to practise with company, especially in the parts that feel uphill on your own at home.

Whether it is one of your first times at a machine or you already sew and want to keep learning, we adapt the help to what you need.

What is included

Everything will be ready when you arrive: your machine, the fabric, the zip and the rest of the materials, included in the price. Coffee and a drink for the break too.

You just come ready to learn. At the end of the afternoon, the wash bag you have sewn goes home with you.
