What you will learn
From switching the machine on for the first time to reading a pattern and finishing a whole garment. No previous experience and at your own pace. Open each block to see what it covers.
01 Basic tools and materials
In this block you will learn to:
- choose scissors, pins and needles according to what you are sewing
- understand which thread each fabric calls for
- recognise the most common fabrics and how they behave
- know what to buy at the start and what can wait, with a materials PDF
- begin with only the essentials: a sewing machine
02 The sewing machine
In this block you will learn to:
- thread the machine and wind the bobbin
- adjust the tension and choose the stitch
- recognise the presser feet and what each one is for
- solve what worries you most at the beginning: tangled thread or skipped stitches
03 Learn to make your corner bookmark
In this block you will learn to:
- cut precisely before sewing
- sew straight and at an even distance from the edge
- turn neatly at the corners
- secure the seam so it does not come undone
04 Learn to make your laptop sleeve
In this block you will learn to:
- work with several layers at once
- add padding
- sew curves
- close pieces with a clean finish inside and out
05 Learn to make your wash bag
In this block you will learn to:
- insert a zip and make it sit neatly
- give the piece structure so it holds its shape
- assemble the pieces of a small project
- take care of the finishes inside
06 Learn to make your Boho Bag
In this block you will learn to:
- assemble large pieces without them shifting
- sew and reinforce the handles
- give a bag shape and structure
- finish the inside so it looks as good as the outside
07 Learn to make your satin skirt
In this block you will learn to:
- read the pattern and choose your size: two downloadable versions, each with its own measurement chart (sizes 34–46)
- handle satin fabrics
- attach the elastic waistband
- finish the hems with a clean couture finish
- use our patterns to carry on sewing your own clothes
